Primates
Whether it's an inquisitive marmoset, curious macaque or cautious apes, there is no denying how "human" all of them are. Not surprising really, as they, like ourselves are all Primates. Despite ranging in size from a diminutive mouse lemur to a testosterone-fuelled silverback gorilla, primates all share common traits (e.g. grasping hands and binocular vision) that evolved foremost for an arboreal lifestyle. And today, the tree-tops remain their quintessential domain.
This selection of Nick's work is mainly from Africa, India and South East Asia and included, prosimians, monkeys and apes. Nick hopes, in the future, to spend more time photographing New World primates. The Lemurs, which are also primates, warrant their own portfolio in the Madagascar section.
